परिचय (Introduction)

I believe that मैं मानता हूँ कि the civilization India has evolved is not to be beaten in the world. भारत में विकसित सभ्यता को दुनिया में चुनौती नहीं दिया जा सकता nothing can equal the seeds sown by our ancestors. हमारे पूर्वजों द्वारा बोये गए बीज के बराबर कुछ भी नहीं हो सकता है Rome went, Greece shared the same fate; the might of the Pharaohs was broken. रोम दुनिया से मिट गया, ग्रीस का वही हाल हुआ; फिरौन के बल टूट गए Japan has become westernized; जापान पश्चिमी देशों जैसा बन गया; of China nothing can be said; चीन का कुछ भी नहीं कहा जा सकता but India is still, लेकिन भारत अभी भी, somehow or other, किसी न किसी तरह sound at the foundation. अपनी नींव पर जमा हुआ है।

Paragraph 6:
A man is not necessarily happy because he is rich, or unhappy because he is poor. ये जरूरी नहीं कि एक आदमी खुश है क्यों की वो आमिर है या दुखी है क्यों की वो गरीब है The rich are often seen to be unhappy, the poor to be happy. What is modern civilization? It is worship of the material, आधुनिक सभ्यता क्या है? यह संसाधन की पूजा है, it is the worship of the brute in us, यह हमारे अंदर के भावशून्यता की पूजा है it is unadulterated (complete) materialism, यह पूर्णतः भौतिकवाद है and modern civilization is nothing if it does not think at every step of the triumph of material civilization. और आधुनिक सभ्यता कुछ भी नहीं है अगर वह भौतिक सभ्यता की जीत के हर चरण के बारे में नहीं सोचती है।
